India Gate is a historical monument located in New Delhi, India. It was built to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who fought bravely during World War I and sacrificed their lives. The names of many soldiers are engraved on this beautiful monument.
In the intersection of New Delhi is the 42 meter high India Gate which is in the form of a vaulted "Arc-the Triumph". It has a memorial of 70,000 Indian soldiers, in line with its French counterpart. Below this monument you can see the infinite flame "Amar Jawan Jyoti", which pays tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives while fighting for the country in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
